Ryanair opened a new route from Birmingham to Torp (by Sandefjord) on June the 17th. 2008 and invited a group of journalists to Telemark.
After having spent a day in the mountains the group was greeted in Kragerø on a sunny afternoon. First of all a visit to the Quality Spa & Resort Hotel was planned and a short boat transfer made a fresh, salty tasting "wake up call". The hotel lies at Stabbestad, on a hill overlooking Kragerø and the fjord. The atmosphere and stylish furnishing make you feel like entering a different world. The hotel must be he only one offering a sauna and outdoor pool with a stunning view. On the premises there a a superb 18-wholes golf course, sea view and pure nature inclusive. After a short boat trip back there was just enough time for a short stroll around in the city, while listening to a jazz concert in one of the outdoor restaurants.
Whether you take a weekend or add a day , Kragerø has a wide range of acitivites to offer. Take some time off and enjoy some spa and wellness, rent a boat and go fishing, dive, golf, bike, shop or explore art and culture. The Torp airport is just an hour by car away, - it is worth it. All through the year.
