Telemark’s only specialist and deservedly celebrated butcher shop is located in Kragerø. The Brødrene (Brothers) Brubakken produce more than 30 different varieties of sausage whose taste cannot be matched anywhere else in the country.

The coastal town of Kragerø has a first-class fishmonger, naturally enough, with a shop on the inner harbour wharf. Live lobster and cod can be chosen from among those swimming in an indoor tank. And what is a more typical summer delight than sitting on the wharf and eating freshly fried fishcakes right out of the bag?
