Getting to Kragerø is easy whether you plan to arrive in your own car or by coach. The new main road from highway E18 has improved communications into the centre of town.
Our three ferries, the “M/F Kragerø”, the “B/F Jesper” and the “B/F Naus”, carry cars, freight and people out to and between the largest islands. Cruises among the lovely coastal islands are also set up all year round on the town’s new pride and joy, the “M/F Kragerø”.
Taxi-boats carry passengers to and from their cottages anywhere among the islands. Taxi-boats that are available for hire are moored at their own pier just beyond the ferry quay.
It is easy and convenient to use public transportation when travelling to Kragerø. Modern express coaches have frequent departures from Oslo and from southern Norway. The coaches also correspond with routes to and from the West Coast. Local busses take care of transportation in and around town with good connections to the trains on the Southern Line

Kragerø Fjordbåtselskap AS was established 1896. The company operates today transport service in the whole Kragerø archipelago, on water and land. We have three ferries, the "M/F Kragerø", the "B/F Jesper" and the "B/F Naus". The "M/F Kragerø" is our new pride. It was launched the spring 2005, and has a capacity for 250 passengers and 24 personal vehicles. Both Jesper and Naus have a capacity for 200 passengers and 11 vehicles.
All of our ferries have build for breaking down thick ice. Kragerø Fjordbåtselskap has therefore in over 20 years had responsibility for the industry in the harbour area. On Levang Peninsula and Skåtøy, Kragerø Fjordbåtselskap has modern busses in route that mostly correspond with the ferries to and from main land. In addition, we rent out busses and ferries for private arrangements. We can suggest, for example, evening/night cruise with dance as one of the highlights.
