About

Artexhibition with Hiroharuh Morii from Japan at the Kragerø Art Association (Kirkegata) from June 24 th -  July 9th. Welcome!

The artist writes:

About myself

I have been fascinated by “Edvard Munch” since I was only 6 years old, so I already knew the name of Kragerø then, though, I didn't know any other cities in this world, like Paris, London and New York! I have felt quite deep atmosphere from the background nature of his pictures, and also I was grew up under the deep nature in Japan. Actually, both countries are so different but I have always mixed by influences of atmospheres from both natures. Then I got to have a sympathy for Norwegian sense of beauties . The name, HABIKINO in picture title is my home-city. When I was a boy, there natural environment was so beautiful and mysterious. And I was always in it alone, with the book of Edvard Munch. And started making original stories in my mind under the deep atmosphere of living Japanese environment, bright green fields, deep woods, black mysterious ponds and dark shadow of the valley. But today, the nature which grew my young imagination and identity was destroyed by the destruction. Anymore, there is no place where can prove the root of MYSELF, my reality of origin is not consist in present of the real world. Now I am collecting and fixing the fragments of memories of HABIKINO on white canvas. This is my 6 times visiting here , I would like to show you “HABIKINO” as the fragments of my identity, which were made by one boy dreaming about here, Kragerø.
